As we celebrate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, it is essential to recognize the need for a comprehensive EMS law in the Philippines.
The lack of a dedicated law for EMS has resulted in a fragmented system that lacks standardization and regulation.
This puts the lives of both EMS providers and patients at risk. It is time for the Philippine government to prioritize the passage of an EMS law that will provide a framework for the delivery of quality emergency care.
This law should include provisions for standardized training, equipment, and resources for EMS providers, as well as guidelines for the establishment of EMS systems across the country.
Let us use EMS Week as an opportunity to urge the government to take action and prioritize the health and safety of all Filipinos.
We Support: Senate Bill no. 3579 "AN ACT institutionalizing a pre-hospital emergency care system, providing for the establishment, supervision and regulation of the Pre-Hospital emergency profession, and for other purposes"
Happy EMS WEEK to all...
